4. HOW TO OBTAIN GAME PLAYS

The Contest includes an online pyramid game (the "Game") that takes place on the Contest Website (see Section 5 below for details). In order to play the Game, you will first need to receive Game plays (each, a "Game Play"). After submitting your Registration in compliance with these Rules (as determined by the Sponsor at its sole discretion), you will automatically receive three (3) Game Plays through the online Contest Website. You can receive additional Game Plays through the various options set forth below by following the on-screen instructions available on the Contest Website following Registration.

  1. Answer Quiz Questions: There will be a total of fifteen (15) multiple-choice challenge questions appearing on the Contest Website. You will receive two (2) Game Plays for each question you answer correctly (as determined by the Sponsor at its sole discretion), for a total maximum of thirty (30) Game Plays for correctly answering all quiz questions. You can only answer each question correctly once. You can attempt to answer a question as many times as you like until you answer it correctly. You must answer a question correctly in order to advance to the next question. To answer a challenge question, follow the Contest Website on-screen instructions and you will first be presented with: (i) one of the challenge questions; (ii) multiple answers to choose from; (iii) a "Submit" button; and (iv) a "Hint" button, which if selected will open a link (the "Link") to assist you in finding the answer. Once the "Hint" button is selected, the Link will open a new browser window and you will then be required to search for the correct answer to the applicable challenge question. Once you have found what you believe to be the correct answer, select the corresponding answer from amongst the multiple answers to choose from and click the “Submit” button.
  2. Follow @CDIC_CA on Twitter®: If you enter your Twitter username on the “FOLLOW US on Twitter” page on the Contest Website and select the “Confirm” button, you will receive ten (10) Game Plays (upon verification by the Sponsor that you are “Following” @CDIC_CA on Twitter). You may only earn a maximum of ten (10) Game Plays via this option.
  3. Watch videos: If you visit the “WATCH VIDEOS” page on the Contest Website, you will be presented with three (3) videos (each, a “Video”). Each Video you watch in its entirety (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion on the basis of its official records), you will receive five (5) Game Plays. You may only earn a maximum of fifteen (15) Game Plays via this option (five (5) Game Plays per video).
  4. Entering Social Codes: You will be awarded five (5) Game Plays for each unique social code you enter via the “Enter Social Codes” page on Contest Website during the Contest Period. Each Game Play obtained per this section 4 of the Rules can only be used once when playing the Game, as outlined in section 5 below. A used Game Play expires immediately upon use.

Each person can obtain a maximum of eighty-three (83) Game Plays during the Contest Period.

5. HOW TO PLAY THE GAME

Entrants need to earn Game Plays to play the Game. The Game has five (5) prize rows. Each row corresponds to a different prize, and prizes increase in value as you climb the pyramid. If the icon you select is a winner, you’ll be able to move on to play the next prize row. Every row has one (1) game over card. If you get it, you lose all your entries for that round. You can stop and save entries anytime, or you can keep going for a chance to win bigger prizes.

To play the Game during the Contest Period, follow the on-screen instructions on the Contest Website to select and use one (1) Game Play and press “Play Now!” (each a “Round”), following which you will be presented with a pyramid (the “Game Pyramid”) containing five (5) rows (each, a “Row”). The first Row on the bottom of the Game Pyramid will contain six (6) squares (“Row 1”), the second Row of the Game Pyramid will contain five (5) squares (“Row 2”), the third Row of the Game Pyramid will contain four (4) squares (“Row 3”), the fourth Row of the Game Pyramid will contain three (3) squares (“Row 4”), and the fifth Row of the Game Pyramid will contain two (2) squares (“Row 5”). Each Row corresponds to a type of Grand Prize (for example, Row 5 corresponds to Grand Prize E – see below for details).

At the start of a Round, each Row will include one (1) square that corresponds to a “Game Over” square (each, a “Game Over Square”). The remaining squares in each Row will correspond with one (1), two (2), or three (3) entries (each, an “Entry”) into the corresponding Grand Prize Draw, or a “2x Entry” square (a “2x Entry Square”) (collectively, the “Entry Squares”), as outlined in the following table:

Row Total Squares Game Over Squares Entry Squares Grand Prize
5 2 1 1 E
4 3 1 2 D
3 4 1 3 C
2 5 1 4 B
1 6 1 5 A

At the start of a Round, you will have to click to select one (1) of the squares in Row 1 (each, a “Row 1 Selection”). If your Row 1 Selection corresponds to a Game Over Square, the Round is over (and you will not receive any Entries in connection with such Round) and you will have to select to use one (1) Game Play to begin another Round, OR if your Row 1 Selection corresponds to an Entry Square, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry, two (2) Entries, or three (3) Entries (as applicable) into the Grand Prize Draw that corresponds to Grand Prize A (each, a “Grand Prize A Entry”) and you will have to either select one (1) of the squares in Row 2 (each, a “Row 2 Selection”) or select to stop the Round (at which point you will receive the Entries you are eligible to receive in connection with such Round).

If you choose to perform a Row 2 Selection and your Row 2 Selection corresponds to a Game Over Square, the Round is over (and you will not receive any Entries in connection with such Round) and you will have to select to use one (1) Game Play to begin another Round, OR if your Row 2 Selection corresponds to an Entry Square, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry, two (2) Entries, or three (3) Entries (as applicable) into the Grand Prize Draw the corresponds to Grand Prize B (each, a “Grand Prize B Entry”) and you will have to either select one (1) of the squares in Row 3 (each, a “Row 3 Selection”) or select to stop the Round (at which point you will receive the Entries you are eligible to receive in connection with such Round).

If you choose to perform a Row 3 Selection and your Row 3 Selection corresponds to a Game Over Square, the Round is over (and you will not receive any Entries in connection with such Round) and you will have to select to use one (1) Game Play to begin another Round, OR if your Row 3 Selection corresponds to an Entry Square, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry two (2) Entries, or three (3) Entries (as applicable) into the Grand Prize Draw that corresponds to Grand Prize C (each, a “Grand Prize C Entry”) and you will have to either select one (1) of the squares in Row 4 (each, a “Row 4 Selection”) or select to stop the Round (at which point you will receive the Entries you are eligible to receive in connection with such Round).

If you choose to perform a Row 4 Selection and your Row 4 Selection corresponds to a Game Over Square, the Round is over (and you will not receive any Entries in connection with such Round) and you will have to select to use one (1) Game Play to begin another Round, OR if your Row 4 Selection corresponds to an Entry Square, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry, two (2) Entries, or three (3) Entries (as applicable) into the Grand Prize Draw the corresponds to Grand Prize D (each, a “Grand Prize D Entry”) and you will have to either select one (1) of the squares in Row 5 (each, a “Row 5 Selection”) or select to stop the Round (at which point you will receive the Entries you are eligible to receive in connection with such Round).

If you choose to perform a Row 5 Selection and your Row 5 Selection corresponds to a Game Over Square, the Round is over (and you will not receive any Entries in connection with such Game Play) and you will have to select to use one (1) Game Play to begin another Round, OR if your Row 5 Selection corresponds to an Entry Square, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry, two (2) Entries, or three (3) Entries (as applicable) into the Grand Prize Draw that corresponds to Grand Prize E (each, a “Grand Prize E Entry”) and the Round is over (at which point you will receive the Entries you are eligible to receive in connection with such Round).

Collectively, Row 1 Selections, Row 2 Selections, Row 3 Selections, Row 4 Selections and Row 5 Selections will be referred to as “Selections”.

During a Round, if you perform a Selection that corresponds with a 2x Entry Square, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry into the corresponding Grand Prize draw. In addition, if during the Contest Period you perform a total of three (3) Selections that each correspond with a 2x Entry Square, you will also be eligible to receive double the total Entries into the corresponding Grand Prize draw(s) that you are eligible to receive for each Round of the Game completed prior to performing your third 2x Entry Square Selection, and double the total Entries into the corresponding Grand Prize draw(s) that you are eligible to receive for each subsequent Round of the Game that you play during the Contest Period. For greater certainty, if your Selection during a Round corresponds to a 2x Entry Square: (i) you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry into the corresponding Grand Prize Draw, and you will have to either select one (1) of the squares in a subsequent Row, or select to stop the Round (at which point you will receive the Entries you are eligible to receive in connection with such Round), and (ii) whether you choose to select a square in a subsequent Row and continue playing the Round (including if such subsequent Row selection corresponds to a Game Over Square), or select to stop the Round, you will retain your 2x Entry Square (subject to a maximum of three (3) 2x Entry Squares per person during the Contest Period), and upon performing a total of three (3) Selections that each correspond with a 2x Entry Square during the Contest Period you will be eligible to receive double your total Entries as set out above.

By way of example, if during Round 1 you are eligible to receive one (1) Grand Prize A Entry, then your Row 2 Selection is a 2x Entry Square and you choose to stop the Round, you will be also be eligible to receive one (1) Grand Prize B Entry. If these same events occur in connection with Round 2 and Round 3 (and, for greater certainty, you perform a total of three (3) Selections that each correspond with a 2x Entry Square), you will be eligible to receive six (6) Grand Prize A Entries and six (6) Grand Prize B Entries.

The location of the Game Over Square, availability of a 2x Entry Square, and number of Entries associated with an Entry Square for Entries per Row during a Round will be randomly determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion using a computer algorithm
